Summary
Our recommendation, listed in order (where available for your device).
- 1st - Genuine Apple battery
- 2nd - Aftermarket battery
Ultimately, the differences come down to your budget and the standard software notifications displayed by Apple. Read the full breakdown below so you know exactly what to expect with each option.
Genuine Apple Battery
A brand new, genuine Apple battery that has been manufatured and tested to Apple's standards.
Your battery can configure in Repair Assistant - Apple's built-in calibration tool in iOS 18 or later. It will confirm as a genuine new part with full battery health and no warning messages, leaving just a clean entry in your Parts and Service History.
Note: For the automated Repair Assistant to complete successfully, Apple's software requires the phone's other core components (like the screen or cameras) to be genuine or verified parts as well.
If genuine batteries are out of budget, check out our aftermarket option below.
Aftermarket battery
Not all batteries are created equal. We've sourced the best aftermarket batteries available. They use premium quality materials and with iOS 18 or later, you still get Battery Health.
Unlike the "cheap" low-quality batteries found in some shops - which often suffer from showing incorrect charge levels, or do not charge properly - our premium batteries are built for performance.
Note on Settings: These batteries will not calibrate in iOS Repair Assistant and will show an "Unknown Part" message but they do work as expected.
